Green-fingered Vitax team plants 300 trees in the National Forest
Vitax colleagues have planted 300 trees at Peggs Pear Wood as part of the company’s latest community partnership with the National Forest.
Vitax has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and its local community by taking part in a tree planting event in the National Forest.
The Coalville-based team planted 300 native trees across two new groves at Peggs Pear Wood, a 15-hectare woodland site in the National Forest. Located close to Vitax’s Leicestershire headquarters, the project offered colleagues the chance to spend time together, support a greener future and give something back to an area many of the team call home.
Despite unpredictable weather, colleagues spent the morning preparing the ground, planting trees and fitting guards, helping the young woodland take root for future generations to enjoy.
For a business whose products help nurture gardens across the UK, the initiative is a natural extension of Vitax’s values and reflects its commitment to working with nature, supporting biodiversity and reducing environmental impact wherever possible.

Peggs Pear Wood was acquired by the National Forest Company in 2023 to increase the environmental benefits associated with tree planting and new woodlands, as well as contributing towards the target of one-third forest cover within the National Forest boundary by 2045.
The National Forest is one of the country’s most ambitious environmental projects, with sustainable development at its heart. It is transforming 200 square miles across parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire.
