NATIONAL FOREST TREE PLANTING DAY

Posted on February 21st, 2012

As part of our long term support of the National Forest, our tree planting day is getting closer.  On Tuesday 13th March we will be in Normanton le Heath, Leicestershire, with staff and guests planting up to 500 saplings to increase the area of National Forest.  We will be planting a mixture of deciduous trees including oak, ash, silver birch, lime, field maple, hornbeam and alder.

The forest continues to have an environmental impact with increased bird populations and a growing diversity of wildlife, and Vitax are proud to be part of this heritage.

You can discover for yourself the beautiful countryside and fantastic walks and cycle paths in the area.

Where possible we will be using our products, such as the new Vitax Q4+, to give the new plantings the best possible start.

A professional photographer will be taking pictures of everyone planting the trees, so we’re hoping for a few colourful action shots.

Edible Garden Show

Posted on February 21st, 2012

We’re really looking forward to the Edible Garden Show on 16-18th March at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry.  We will be on the GardenStore stand again, selling a range of organic and inorganic fertilisers for use all around the garden, and it’s a great chance for us to meet our customers.

We’re excited to be featuring our new pre-planting fertiliser, Q4+, with mycorrhizae, remarkable fungi which increase the uptake of nutrients when planting roses, shrubs and trees.

There will be special offers on the stand which are available at this show only, so please come and make the most of the opportunity and speak to our experts about your gardening needs.

Supaturf Line marking machines and liquids will feature for the first time at the BRMB Grass Roots Football Show, which takes at the NEC Birmingham from May 25 – 27th.

There will also be an opportunity for a club to win the latest Briteliner Arrow line marking machine together with enough line marking liquid to look after a pitch for a complete season*.

The Arrow is a new design transfer wheel line marker and, since its launch last year, has received universal acclaim from users ranging from international stadia to local sports grounds.

To enter the draw for the prize, visitors will have to register on the Supaturf stand and answer a few simple questions.

Supaturf Accredited in Kenya

Posted on February 1st, 2012

Supaturf line marking liquids and ultilities have been accredited by FKF – Football Kenya Federation.

In an open letter to all concerned in football in Kenya, FKF National Chairman Sam Nyamweya, said that line marking is an integral aspect in football.

“A well-marked pitch improves the standard of play by assisting match officials in making the right calls and helps players determine their mode of play.  Well marked pitches are also soft on the eye and will encourage more corporate participation in local football if the images beamed on television and newsprint show perfectly marked pitches,” he says.

“In this football calendar year, the FKA has banned the use of used engine oil and chalk/lime to mark football pitches, in line with FIFA standards and local National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) laws.

“FIFA and CAF have recommended 5-inch lines for competition matches, a move that makes it very easy for referees and linesmen to determine goals,  offsides, throw-ins and corners.

“We are directing all members in the FKF family to make the transition and be part of the changing face of Kenyan football.

“In this regard, FKF has accredited Supaturf East Africa Ltd, which supplies eco-friendly line-marking liquids and utilities which mark pitches based on FIFA/CAF standards.”
