Ants Indoors - continuedThe establishment of an ant colony within the brickwork or under the floor of a house can be a major problem. If the nest is away from a heated area, normal hibernation will occur and treatment with Nippon Ant Killer Liquid is all that is required.
 Ant activity within the house during the winter indicates that a nest is sited near a heating unit or hot water pipe. As the ants do not experience a seasonal drop in temperature, the colony never becomes inactive. Whilst this will reduce their life span, it means that contact insecticides such as Nippon Ant and Crawling Insect Killer aerosol, Nippon R.T.U. Ant & Crawling Insect Killer trigger spray and Nippon Ant Killer Powder will be most effective as this time of year as the ants will only show limited interest in feeding, thus reducing the effectiveness of Nippon Ant Killer Liquid. Apply either the powder or aerosol to cracks and crevices in walls or floors where ants are seen. It should be possible to trace where the main nest is sited and continual treatment to the surrounding area will finally destroy the colony or cause it to move elsewhere.
